Job Description

The Cut Fruit Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional customer service. They will be responsible for the daily execution and maintenance of all cut fruit, packaged produce and juiced products. They must use a cut glove, follow proper cutting techniques and adhere to all sanitation guidelines. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Further, Team Members must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions.

Qualifications

Ability to model and provide exceptional customer service.
Must have a love of natural, organic and local produce.
Ability to lead by example and set clear expectations.
Must have vast produce product knowledge.
Must Have Solid Knife Skills
Able to ensure service, food safety and sanitation standards.
Able to oversee and train all proper rotation techniques.
Able to ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and E-mail.
Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted
Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
An individual must demonstrate successful performance in their current position before being considered for promotion

Responsibilities

Ensure all dated items are in code daily.
Follow Sanitation guide lines per Village Market SOP and FDA Food Code.
Effectively communicate with Customers, Team Members and Store Leadership.
Daily execution and maintenance of cut fruit, packager produce and juiced products.
Prep lists, as assigned.
Wear a cut glove.
Maintain a clean and sanitized work station.
Maintain all compliance logs.
Thorough knowledge of all relevant Village Market policies and standards.
Effectively resolve customer issues.
Performs all functions related to processing (preparation) and merchandising in the produce department•
Cleans department continuously and maintains cleaning logs
Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
Immediately reports safety hazards and violations

Job Description

Cashiers provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for our guests using a computerized cash system. Cashiers often bag their guests’ groceries and help shoppers find items in the store. They must maintain a clean and stocked work station. They may be asked to front surrounding areas and may take “return” products back to proper shelf locations.

Qualifications

Ability to provide exceptional guest service.
Must have a love of natural, organic and specialty products.
Ability to learn and operate all aspects of the computerized cash system.
Ability to learn and follow strict cash/check/credit card handling procedures
Must have strong communication skills.

Job Description

The Assistant Team Leader of Grocery is responsible for the exceptional execution of customer Service by the entire department. In conjunction with the Grocery Team Leader, they are responsible for holding Team Members accountable to achieve the highest level of Customer satisfaction and leading the team to success. They are responsible for managing department inventory, margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity and merchandising standards. They will ensure Grocery Team Members receive proper training and supervision regarding product knowledge, proper rotation, storage, merchandising standards, building displays and proper opening and closing procedures.

Along with the Team Leader, will train, mentor and coach Team Members to succeed.

Must achieve maintain budgeted margins and comps for each sub department and total department.
In the absence of the department manager, Buyer or as assigned, will inventory and order for the department as needed and keep up to date purchase journals.
In the absence of the department manager, Buyer or as assigned, must meet all deadlines in terms of invoices, purchase journals & reconciliation, scheduling, perishable inventories, rotation audits and pricing audits.
Communicate all Team Member issues to Grocery Team Leader and Store Leadership.
Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to all safe work practices
Effectively communicate with Customers, Team Members and Store Leadership.
Ensure Team Member compliance of all relevant Village Market policies and standards.
Quality control and damage control, making sure damaged products are handled in a proper fashion and credits are received in a timely fashion.
Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
Communication with other department leaders to coordinate promotions, displays, exc.

Job Description

The Assistant Team Leader of Produce is responsible for the exceptional execution of customer service by the entire department. They report directly to the Team Leader of produce and in his/her absence, they are to lead the team. They are responsible for managing department inventory, margin, labor budgets, pricing integrity, and merchandising standards. They will ensure all Produce Team Members receive proper training and supervision. Along with the TL, the ATL will ensure the highest level of execution in regard to ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, rotation, merchandising and building of displays.

Must achieve maintain budgeted comps and margins for the department.
In the absence of the TL or as assigned, will inventory and order for the department and keep up to date purchase journals.
Must meet all deadlines in terms of invoices, purchase journals, scheduling etc.
Ensure all compliance logs are completed as necessary.
Must track TM time and attendance in the absence of a Team Leader.
Give feedback to the Team Leader in terms of performance reviews.
Effectively communicate with customer, Team Members and Store Leadership.
Ensure Team Member compliance of all relevant policies and standards.

The Grocery Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional customer service. They will make sure the dry grocery, dairy

and frozen sections of the store are well stocked for our customer. They assist in receiving, storing and stocking of

products while ensuring proper rotation and quality. They will build displays, handle damaged product and maintain a proper

fronting of the department.

At Village Market all jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to

customers and Team Members always. All positions must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating

Procedures. Further, Team Members must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other Team Member job

descriptions. Team Leaders are required to spend significant time on the floor, engaging with customers, and pitching in to help
